All too often, many individuals, students, and families wear a mask and pretend "everything is okay" just because they attend church. This is a large part of why 90% of kids raised in the church walk away from their faith after going to college. Many students feel disillusioned, believing their faith didn’t work. And in the minds of Gen Z, there is no absolute truth or clear purpose for their life and faith because it was never truly modeled. It was only talked about on Sundays but never played a significant role in the struggles of everyday life.
The Problems Gen Z Faces Today

- Many teens have not been taught how to express their true selves, leaving them feeling disconnected or like they’re living a lie.
- While Gen Z is often focused on being happy, financially stable, or physically and mentally healthy, they still feel held back in areas of relationships, identity, and faith.
- Gen Z tends to place a high value on individual beliefs over absolute truths, leaving them struggling to find a firm foundation.
Today’s teens are growing up in a complex world, where the pressure to “be themselves” is often held back by confusion, uncertainty, and societal expectations. Gen Z craves authenticity, yet they struggle with self-expression and often feel like they are living a lie, caught in cycles of unhealthy people, places, and things.
The Landing is a community of Jesus-followers who want to walk alongside local students as they pursue identity, purpose, and belonging.
In The Landing students will:
- Confront the unhealthy patterns that have been holding them back.
- Break free from the unhealthy cycles that keep them stuck.
- Find freedom in vulnerability, sharing their stories in a supportive, Christ-centered community.
- Learn how to rely on God’s strength, not their own, to experience the healing and relationships they were created for.
- Discover how true freedom comes through worshiping God and living according to His plan for their lives.
