Belief

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and therefore, are one God. God is sovereign and gives His children free will because of His desire for genuine love. He can be trusted because He has the ultimate authority over His Creation.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, yet He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and one day will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Jesus as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, guidance to do what is right, and gifts to use in ministry. We seek to live under His direction daily. Scripture also refers to Him by many names, including Comforter, Counselor, Guide, Indweller of Believers, and Advocate.

People are the supreme object of God’s creation, created in His image to have a loving relationship with Him. However, we have all chosen to disobey God, rebel against Him, and go our own way. The Bible calls this sin. The result of this sin is that we are alienated from God. The effects of this fall from our intended relationship with God can be reversed through faith in Jesus Christ because of His forgiveness of our sins.

Romans 3:23; 6:23; John 3:16

The Bible tells us the wages of our sin is death. We believe that because Jesus was God and never sinned, His death paid the death penalty we owed. We can never pay for our own sin through self- improvement or good works. Salvation is a free gift given to us by the grace of God. We receive this gift of salvation when we complete the components in the plan of salvation: believe, confess Christ as Lord, repent of sins, and be baptized by immersion. We believe salvation results in moral living and good works.

Romans 5:8; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe that baptism is by immersion into Jesus Christ. It is our natural response of faith and obedience when we choose to surrender to Jesus. In the New Testament Church, those who believed were baptized (immersed) into the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38-41; Romans 6:3-7; Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:26-27

All those who experience union with Christ through salvation are united with His spiritual body, the Church. The Bible instructs believers to gather together in fellowship, worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, partaking of the Lord's Supper, serving God and reaching out to the world. Wherever Christians meet regularly there is the local expression of the Church. Under the loving care and guidance of Elders, Staff and other supportive leaders, the church family works together in love and unity to extend the Kingdom of God on the earth.

The Lord's Supper, also called communion, is a proclamation of the death of Jesus Christ. The emblems of unleavened bread and unfermented fruit of the vine that we use, represent the pure body and blood of Jesus. The Lord's Supper is a spiritual communion with the risen Christ, and a reminder of His great love. As in Bible days, we offer the Lord’s Supper each week. Believers use this time to remember Christ and his death, examine their lives, ask God for forgiveness, and personally rededicate themselves in service to God.

Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

Scripture gives us clear guidance regarding church leadership. Christ is the head of the church and He has entrusted the responsibility of shepherding the flock to the local eldership. Together the elders and ministerial staff guard, teach, counsel, and guide the local congregation.

1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-5

Man was created for eternal existence in a close relationship with God, but sin separated us from Him. Jesus will one day return and on that day everyone will be judged by Him. There will be just punishment and reward. For those who are in Christ there is no condemnation, and they will spend eternity in the presence of God. Those who reject Jesus will be separated from Him by their sin in a place of eternal conscious punishment called Hell.
